Privacy Policy for Recall Me

Recall Me is developed and operated by AFC Software. This Privacy Policy explains how Recall Me accesses, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the mobile application.

Recall Me is designed as a local-first productivity app. Its purpose is to help users create notes, contact-related notes, reminders, post-call reminders, notebook entries, and optional AI-powered summaries.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

Recall Me stores your app data locally on your device.

This may include:

* Notes you create

* Contact-related notes

* Reminder information

* Notebook entries

* AI summaries generated at your request

* App settings and preferences

This data is stored on your device using the app’s local database. Recall Me does not provide cloud sync and does not automatically upload your notes, reminders, contacts, call history, notebook data, or local database to external servers.

You may manually export or import your app data using the built-in JSON backup feature. Exported files are controlled by you and stored or shared only where you choose.

2. AI Summary Feature

Recall Me includes an optional AI-powered summary feature.

When you choose to summarize text, only the text you submit for summarization is sent to our backend server for processing. This happens only when you actively use the AI summary feature.

We do not send your contact names, phone numbers, address book, call logs, reminder list, notebook data, or full local database to the backend for AI summaries.

The submitted text is used only to generate a summary and return it to the app. We do not store or retain the submitted note text on our servers after processing.

If the AI summary feature is disabled in the app settings, Recall Me does not send text to the backend for AI summarization.

3. Subscription and Pro Access

Recall Me may offer a free usage limit and a Pro subscription for additional usage.

To manage Pro access, the app may process limited subscription-related information, such as purchase status or purchase verification data provided through Google Play Billing. This information is used only to verify whether Pro features should be enabled.

Payment processing is handled by Google Play. AFC Software does not receive or store your full payment card details.

4. Permissions Used by the App

Recall Me may request certain permissions to provide its core features. Permissions are used only for the purposes described below.

Contacts Permission

Recall Me may request access to contacts so you can associate notes with specific people stored on your device.

Contact data is used locally inside the app to help you select contacts, link notes to contacts, and display relevant notes or reminders when needed.

Contact names and phone numbers are not sold, used for advertising, or sent to our backend for AI summaries.

Phone State and Call-Related Permissions

Recall Me may request phone state and call-related permissions to support its core call-based note and reminder features.

These permissions are used to detect phone call context and identify relevant recent call events so the app can show user-created notes or post-call reminders connected to the person involved in the call.

For example, if you have created a note for a contact, Recall Me may use call-related information locally on your device to determine whether a related call occurred and then display the appropriate reminder or note.

Call-related data is processed locally on your device. Recall Me does not upload your call logs, phone numbers, call history, or call-related records to our servers.

Notification Permission

Recall Me may request notification permission to display reminders, post-call reminders, and relevant note notifications.

Notifications are used only for app functionality and not for advertising or tracking.

Microphone / Speech Recognition

Recall Me may allow you to create notes by speaking. Speech-to-text processing may be handled by your device or by the speech recognition service available on your device, depending on your system settings and provider.

Recall Me uses the resulting text only to create or update your note.

5. Backend and Technical Data

To operate AI summaries, subscription validation, security, and abuse prevention, our backend may process limited technical information.

This may include:

* Request timestamps

* Basic request metadata

* Rate-limit or abuse-prevention data

* Subscription verification status

We use this information only to operate, protect, and improve the service.

We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or selling user data.

6. Data Sharing

AFC Software does not sell your personal data.

We do not share your notes, contacts, phone numbers, call logs, call history, reminders, or notebook data with advertisers or data brokers.

Limited data may be processed by service providers only when necessary to operate app features, such as AI summarization, hosting, security, or Google Play subscription verification.

7. Data Retention

Most app data is stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete it, uninstall the app, clear app data, or use the app’s delete/export/import features.

Text sent for AI summarization is processed temporarily and is not retained on our servers after the summary is generated.

Call-related information used by the app is processed locally for app functionality and is not uploaded to our servers.

Limited technical or subscription-related records may be retained only as long as necessary for security, abuse prevention, subscription validation, legal compliance, or service operation.

8. Data Deletion

You can delete your locally stored app data from within the app where deletion features are available, or by uninstalling the app or clearing app data from your device settings.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data handled by Recall Me.

For backend communication, we aim to use secure transmission methods such as HTTPS. Since most of your data is stored locally on your device, you are also responsible for protecting access to your device, backups, and exported files.

10. Advertising and Analytics

Recall Me does not use advertising SDKs.

Recall Me does not currently use analytics or crash reporting tools.

If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

11. Children’s Privacy

Recall Me is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and may also be reflected inside the app.
